Nottingham Forest star Serge Aurier left fans in stitches over the weekend after scoring a bizarre own goal after a gaffe at the back.
Aurier was turning up for his country Ivory Coast in an AFCON qualifier against Zambia on Saturday, June 17.
The own goal incidentally came from 25 yards, leaving Aurier and his teammates red-faced.
It all stemmed from a defence-splitting pass from Zambia, with Aurier attempting to intercept the ball.
Instead, the ball cannoned of his foot as the Nottingham Forest star slipped after being put under pressure by Fashion Sakala.
The ball ended up shooting towards goal, and goalkeeper Charles Folly Ayayi was helpless to stop his side from falling behind.
On social media, fans could not help but see the funny side to it as the Ivory Coast defense looked like they were in shambles against Zambia.
“The keeper is either absolutely shocking or has a decent bank balance now.” One fans said.
“Good old Serge…the gift that keeps on giving .tho’ he seemed to play a lot better for Forest than he ever did for us!” Another added.
“Looks like Aurier just scored the goal of the season for the other team!” Joked another fan
“Ridiculous one, but the keeper hasn’t covered himself in glory either” Another fan noted.
As far as the game went, Ivory Coast went on to lose 3-0 thanks to more goals in the second half from Leicester man Patson Daka and Red Star Belgrade's Kings Kangwa, as reported on The Sun.
